    Aussie Hayabusa Track Bike

Yep, I've talked about it for years (Hayabusa Track Bike???) and planned it for the last year (Thinking of turning my 99 Busa into a track bike...), and now it has begun.

    It's a 99 copper, "Number 262"

    Now looking more like this

With a bit of luck we'll be seeing this racing around our Aussie tracks...

I'm still after any (cheap) parts available that may come in handy, especially if they are scratched or dented, since it's only for a track bike. Please send PM's with any parts you may have to sell me.

Things I still need at this stage:
    * Any top triple tree that may be lighter than stock/OEM
    * 4 into 1, any condition
    * A set of Carbon wheels, in case anyone has a set in the garage they don't use
    * Anything that's less heavy than stock/OEM bits
Also, I'm aiming to make it as light and nimble as possible, so please let me know your thoughts on how to do this without spending a fortune...

Lightening it, well from the ZX10R forum you can chop chunks out of the frame

Now more serious, tire choice will reduce a bit of weight, but the equivalent once you figure in the gyroscopic forces is tremendous savings in weight, handling, response and won't tire you out nearly as quick (Pirelli SuperCorsa Pro (my OEM tires) are way lighter than other manufacturers, just an example).

Good with this project and definitely want to see video's of this tearing up the asphalt and railing turns.

    Not really...

Those original fairings went to someone else. I got some plain plastic fairings and started all over again...

You can save money on cf wheels and just get Gixxer wheels, they'll save you 12lbs on the rotating mass which will help alot. You'll need spacers, front gixxer rotors, and have to mill down the rear brake bar alil.

    More weight savings:
    1) SuperSprox sprocket
    2) CF Handlebars
    3) 99-00 Aluminum Subframe (If you're running the steel one)
    4) CF or Fiberglass Gastank
    4) Get rid of the passenger pegs, AIR Pump, & Flapper in Airbox

    Sorry, I meant "PAIR Valve"
It's a pump that puts fresh air into your emissions.
It has tubing attached inbetween all your header flanges.

You're gonna need block off plates:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HAYAB...Q5fAccessories
and a small vacuum cap for your Throttle body, and a bigger cap for your Airbox.

    Removal Benefits:
    1) 2lbs Weight loss
    2) More accurate A/F readings
    3) Free's up space to work behind the radiator.

Mike, I seriously doubt there is a 12lb wt savings b/w the gixxer and busa wheel combo. Maybe, but I don't see it after weighing plenty of wheels and comparing them to the CZ wheels.

Yeh, not keen on Gixxer wheels. If I'm going to do it, I'd rather do it RIGHT and save up for CF wheels.

Woah... you gotta pull that Honduh Racing decal of the side of your trailer. Nifty looking setup, short walls to reach over, but still keep loose items from sliding out with sturdy looking steel fenders (I so love being able to stand on my steelies w/o bending them up) and a nice tie-down bar. Nice.

Pan, on the BST, MSRP is $3750.00 USD. I can get the wheels to you, shipped, for just under that, $3700.00 USD, but thats about it. And I'm not supposed to ship to Oz, as Oz has its own distributor and dealer network, but I don't play that. Of course for those in the US, the price is much more flexible since I can have them drop shipped and more.
