    XXX Chrome Plating

Some of you may have noticed that XXX Chrome Plating is no longer a sponsor. We thought it was important to explain the situation that lead to their removal.

Back in August of 2007 Camisha of XXX posted a message in the backroom with an outline for a Busa makeover contest that they wanted to sponsor. In a nutshell, members would post photos of their Busa, and a single winner would be selected. As you might recall, BBK (Sam) and his 2006 LE won the contest.

In October Sam trailered his bike to XXX from Ohio to Minnesota. When he dropped it off he was told by Kevin of XXX that his bike would be ready in 6-weeks. Since this was the winter months Sam told Kevin to take his time. According to Sam, Kevin also promised that he would send Sam progress photos of his Busa throughout the process... which never happened. In January Sam started contacting XXX to check on the progress and got sporadic responses from Camisha where she never provided him with a completion date. She told Sam they had been very busy, she also said that there had been blizzards, she also told Sam they were in the process of moving, and she also said that Kevin had been traveling. By the end of February Sam wasn't able to get into contact with XXX... they were not answering emails or his phone messages. Big Diesel contacted me and filled me in on the situation. That night I emailed Camisha and the next morning she replied saying that Sam's bike would be done March 1st... that date came and went. They promised a few more completion dates after that and again nothing. Throughout this time both Sam and I were calling and emailing XXX and not getting a response. At one point XXX promised a completion date and Sam drove there only to find his bike in pieces and not ready for pickup. To make a long story short, Big Diesel finally was able to pickup Sam's completed bike. At first glance the bike looked excellent. But when Sam picked up his bike and brought it home (from Diesel's house) and started looking at it more closely he started to notice more and more flaws. Within days the chrome was actually falling off the bike.

Since then Sam has tried to come to an satisfactory agreement with XXX to no avail. I have called and spoken with Camisha and they feel they've done nothing wrong. Since my last phone conversation with Camisha a week ago I've called and emailed them without a response... same goes for Sam. XXX has offered to redo the chrome job, but Sam has no intention of sending them his plastics and tank in fear that it will take too long and he'll go the hassle again.

That is a shame. I heard about this thing a couple of weeks ago... Hope everything works out for Sam.... I would be very, very upset with this...... Good looking out George...

I forgot to mention... although we knew of the situation and XXX should have been removed when we found out in February, we thought it was important to keep them on as a sponsor until Sam had his bike back.

Big Diesel texted me while he was driving away from XXX with Sam's bike and they were removed as a sponsor at that moment.

I went to Chicago Cycles were they have some of XXX work on display the maroon
hayabusa and a blue something fom suzuki. If you get close enough to it the craftman ship does not look worth spending that amount of money to have this done. i was eally looking forwad to getting this done to my bike, but after seeing his work it really looks cheesy looking. this is just my opinion. Sory to hear about this but shouldv'e said something earlier but didn't want to bash a sponser on the forum.

For the record, this was not the only incident XXX had while here at EBC. This was simply the last incident.

Lack of communication was and still is a huge issue. I made many failed and unanswered attempts before this contest was even discussed publicly.

Sory to hear about this but shouldv'e said something earlier but didn't want to bash a sponser on the forum.
That's what PM's are for my friend. Lesson learned I hope. We cannot do anything about an issue if we know nothing about it.....Sponsor or not. Yes we'll go to bat for our Sponsors but rest assured, we definitely go to bat for our members as well.

I was reading a lot about this incident.

It was obvious from a first few attempts that they screwing with him.

Come on, its 21 century, we all have cell phones, internet, text messaging.

I`d sue their asses after I got my bike in such condition, paid or not it`s irrelevant.

A few of the things that adds fuel to the fire is Camisha's approach to this... presenting their side as "No good deed goes unpunished", and telling Sam and I "Paying customers come first" as to one of the reasons why the bike took so long.

So sad that lack of care leads to crap business screwing over people.

Big props to Scott for helping out, George for continuing with the situation after all the events that have transpired since.

They have no idea how powerful out community could be.

All what they needed to do is to buy brand new set for $1500 and sent an apology letter. I guess their good name cost less then that.

Exactly. A real effort to make this right, even now, would make a difference. It would be good to see some positive outcome from this, unlikely though that might seem right now.

I would send some pictures of this "Chrome Plating" to every motorcycle publication I could find.
I`d also distribute it on every board I could.
I`d make myself a new avatar and signature line with link on webpage I`d build just for that purpose.

I`d do everything i can to shut down their "business" or discourage as many potential customers as I possible can.

It would be my live mission for a while.

I think if they don't make it right that that would be unnecessary effort. The whole busa online community (at least) is watching.

Boaz, Spectra is a knock-off (not saying that in a bad way mind you) of Alsa Corp. Alsa developed the spray-on chrome, as well as many other bad ass "paint" products. Just a FYI bit there. We'll have to talk with your roomie, if you want to give him my contact info, please pm.

I have noticed that not only with this situation but with many people I deal with now-a-days, that customer service has become anything but first on some company's priority lists. I remember working soph year in college for advance auto parts and customer service at our store was first rate. It was more important than sales or anything else to our manager. I have since been into other stores only to see the aggravation and disgust on peoples faces when they are not treated well. Very few business truly THANK people for their money and loyalty. Props to companies like Tiger Racing and TC that I have dealt with on many occasions that do just that. Sorry to hear about what happened and let this be a lessoned learned about the power of word of mouth and community loyalty.
