Thread: Highwood Pass - Kananaskis Hwy 40

Well like to share some pics from the weekend had a couple friends come into town and one brought his 1982 1100 Goldwing. Well took him on the Highway 40 on Saturday and we covered approximately 400km. His passenger snapped alot of pics while we were rolling down the highways. Here are a few good shots from Saturday.

Looks like a good day.

Was a great day for sure. Little info this time of year get a little cool on the highway so you have to take it easy, When you leave Calgary we are at 3300 Feet Above Sea Level and when you hit the highest point on the highway it is 7300 Feet above sea level. So there is a very noticeable temperature drop.

I was sitting here thinking that I've never been to Canada, and that maybe I should take a ride up there one day. Especially since I would have someone to hang out with if I went.

But because I've never seen a map of Canada, I was a little surprised at what mapquest spit out.

Total Estimated Time: 43 hours 11 minutes Total Estimated Distance: 2820.15 miles

I would wear out a set of tires each way.

Thanks for the pics. Because that's probably the only way I'll see your neighborhood.

On your busa Kaos I bet you could shave that time down to say 30-32 Hours. But hear you on the tire factor. Would always be glad to meet new members and play tour host to any members visiting Calgary, Alberta.

I believe I could do it by myself in less than 30 hours. I'm going to consider it anyway. Maybe early next summer.

beautiful country, I'd love to see it. I'm planning a Cape Breton trip next summer, now I have to add western Canada to the list

You know Kaos....you have a standing invite when you have a layover in my area...even have a back-up bike for you to ride...

I fully intend to be in touch with you when I get some extra time there. Since we exchanged numbers and such, I have only driven through Little Rock twice and didn't have time to stop either time. I haven't forgotten your offer though.

I only wish we had scenery like that around here. I guess thats why I like it when members post up there ride pics. I can dream can't I?!?!!
