    name this lid...

What do you call this kind of helmet? other than suicide.

I heard it referred to as the "Extended Half" but had no luck tracking one down for a reasonable price... and no it doesn't have to be carbon.

We used to buy tons of the Daytona Helmets 1/2 shells at Windmill. I have at least 3... great helmets for little money.

By the way... the non DOT 1/2 shells are categorized as "Novelty Helmets" Basic Colors Novelty

Thats what I am looking for but with out the 2 1/2 inches of foam that makes it stick up off of your head.

I want it to sit like that guys.

sounds like "novelty" is what I will look for.

That would be PiMp, especially for those unexpected cagers doing U-turns in front of you, won't leave as big a hole in their windshield with that cap (not big enough to categorize as a lid).

Hell no, I was thinking night time only lid. This being that much smaller would be a lot easier to handle when your stumbling drunk staggering through the bar parking lot, whereas a full face keeps that alcohol smell inside the visor and can really get you in trouble

he11s yeah homie.... besides, without all that annoying useless foam, you can also use it as a pitcher when the bar maid runs out of clean mugs, flip it and fill it! Shoots, I got this Son!

Do a search for novelty helmets. THats what it is..no padding and NOT DOT. I have a half German real carbon NOVELTY helmet Actualy one for me and one for the wife. I know I know...but we use them out cruising around or going to dinner type riding. Heavy...got them for thing $35 bucks.
I was freaked out the 1st time I used it, being open face and all. BUT I love it....my vision is open so much more. Will NOT get on the highway with it thu. Think its horrible with speeds over 55mph.
I dont dress for the crash....I dress for the ride.

That first link is on the money, but way to pricey.

The second link has what I need for a good price as long as its not full of padding on the inside, EZ Rider 230 Matte Black Novelty Helmet

But Im having second thoughts about buying from a random on line store.

Thats where Scala rider Q2 team set comes in FTW. You can talk, listen to music via bluetooth or cabled MP3, hear your turn-by Nav set, and answer calls. All that, without the lipstick
