Over the years I've always heard that a new engine and newly rebuilt engine will use oil until the rings seat. From the first day to now I've not had my Gen II to use any oil whatsoever. Has anyone with a Gen II had any oil problems?

Oil issues are not common on the advanced engines of today. Oil control is much better, the plating of the cylinders is awesome, the material for the rings are superior etc... I know back in the mid-80's when I built my first engines (lawn mower, motorcycle and car in the same year) there was no cylinder plating, the rings took miles to seat (using oil the entire time) and you prayed the rings seated to the cylinder quick and good. None of those thing apply today though. Looking around, the Gen 1 was nothing to note on lack of oil control and thus far neither is the Gen II.

The question is not how far. The question is do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith to go as far as is needed? The Duke.

I would also like to add that you also need to use a regular non-synthetic motorcycle oils. I also modulate the speed, never really stay at one constant rpm.

A forum for motorcycle in general. This site is my personal website being ran by myself Heavybusa and soon BigGeorge. It is a place we can go and talk about all bikes dirt, street, cruiser or whatever else. Also a place we can converge on if Extreme ever has problems so you can get in touch with us to find out what is going on and when Extreme will be up and running again.
Yeah, you have to give it to Gray... he is a thread reader.
