I'm going to assume you are stock wheelbase so here it goes. Lower your tire pressure to around 35psi. If you have a strap, use it. Do a short burn out, and by that I mean just enough to clean the tire, no more. Should take all of a second to a second and a half. Pull in to pre-stage, bring RPM's up to 4500 and stage the bike. On the last yellow, pin the throttle and slide the clutch out. Shift when your tach reads 11K, which is actually around 10,200-10,400, and have some fun.

On the flipside, just try to have some fun and get used to going fast on your bike. Take it easy and don't hurt anything and enjoy the day!! Let us know how everything turns out.

Something else I remembered. I am assuming you have never done this before, so if I sound redundant, just ignore me. Most people do anyway! NEVER run your front tire through the water in the water box! I don't even put my rear tire in the water. Drive around the box and stop about two foot in front of the box, closest to the staging lights. Lift off the bike, hold the brake HARD and slide the clutch out and give it some throttle and the rear tire will spin easy enough. Also, Make sure your front tire pressure is right. A track usually has an air compressor somewhere so remember to air your rear tire back up before you leave to go home. Before you go, give your bike a good looking over. Make sure things that are supposed to be tight are tight. Make sure that things that are supposed to move are clean and move freely. The biggest help I can give you is ask the bike racers there. They will be more than happy to help you. Don't be embarrased. We've all been there. You'll find you will have the experienced racers patting you on the back more than you want!

Thanx for the advice
Bike used to to be great at 4500 but with carpenter port and cams bike likes it a little higher Bogs at 4500 so I will have to see what works on that one, Stock wheelbase , lowered 2inch all around , I was questioning tire pressure I have been told as low as 25 lb ? I think that would be way to little thanx for the answer

No worries Mark, you got this. If you do not have full leathers then tell them you don't know what it will run in tech or they won't pass you.

got full leathers and will tell them I don't know what it will run anyway . My friend with the 09 Max said to tell them that so if I run into the 9's they will only hassel me after a few runs that low

So got three runs off 10.30 at 141.02
10.314 at 141.13
and my frist ever run 10.451 at 136.40

Have tickets all VS 09 Vmax x pipe unrestricted 2 wins 1 loss as I pulled a wheelie in 2nd and lost by 1/10 of a second but still had a higher speed and better 60 foot lost it in the 330 to the 1/8 mile
