just had to go back through my slips from last year.

I am no pro by far...but my 06 is stock.
    I am 230lbs and unaerodynamic at 6'5".

    Track Altitude 2350 ft
    0.196 reaction
    1.640 60'
    4.305 330'
    6.519 1/8th mile
    111.06 mph
    8.388 990'
    10.080 1/4 mile
    137.35 mph

most guys that have been doing this for years will have there 60's down to the 1.5's.
Your bogging is probably because your rpm is not high enough, and your letting the clutch out to fast. See if you can hold the rpm's around 4500 - 5000, and then let the clutch out slower and steady. As soon as you see yellow start going... (pro tree setup ?)

Keep it up. Time in the seat is how you get better. Its addicting...I will forewarn you now...

Seat time is the key. For the first time out, you did great. In fact, if you kept the shiny side up, you had a successful day.

Now I don't know a bunch about drag racing, but I'll try and give ya some advice to help you along. Talk to the racers out there. You'll find out they will tell you anything you wan to know. Get a strap to help with the wheelies and if you want to lower your bike, now is the time. Hold your rpms around 4500 and on the last yellow, pin the throttle and slide the clutch out (sounds easy, but your self preservation will make it difficult). If you have an air shifter that will shave time off. If not, be sure to situate yourself so you can make the 1-2 shift. That is the most important and critical. Once you get your 60 ft times down, the rest will fall into place. A good rider will run 6.20-low6.30's on a stock busa.

The most important think I can tell you is have fun.

Wow i'm a full second off lol. I know my 60ft is way off so i'll work on that to start. Really don't want to lower it because i want to go through the twisties too lol. I know my cake and eat it too lol. And when you said 6.20-30's is that on a stock everything suspention, exhaust, paper air filter and all? But anyway got alot to learn i see. My wife thinks i'm crazy at 41 yrs. old trying this lol. She's been with me for 17yrs she should have already known lol. Thanks again....

That was with a pipe and filter. A bone stock bike should still see 6.40's. Every tenth you shave at the 60ft beams is two tenths down track. You can see why the first 60ft are so important.

Been a while since i've been on the site lol. I added HMF full exhaust, 43 tooth sprocket, BMC filter, PC3, and lowered front 1 1/2 in. and rear 2 in. got my new best time down to a 6.66 at 116mph 60' was a 1.68. Thats in the 1/8th. Realy hard to keep the front down now on the stock swing arm. Oh and this was my 3rd and finial time out this yr. lol.

Buy a strap for the front and think about gearing and tire pressure . also when the front comes up don't shit a brick just shift and she should settle back down
04 Black and Purple full Muzzy . Carpenter 1397 with head package and cams , plus way to much more

Don't let the age stop you. I'm 55 and love running down the drag strip. Just take it easy at first and be safe.
