The question is not how far. The question is do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith to go as far as is needed? The Duke.

I got in a bit before Mike (MTKO) so I was able to get in the first three runs. The last three runs we hit the time slip lanes and ran eachother. Wives said ppl in the bleachers were all cheering for us and stuff, so that was pretty cool. Learned a lot, and reflected back to how to apply my cager experience with the Busa. Different animals but much of the same things apply, like using all sensors to decipher feedback from tire slippage, to rpm points etc. Had a blast and will definately be out doing it again, addictive as the Camaro racing was and then some. Once I get a cush drive hub back for my stock rear wheel I'll have a Shinko 003 mounted, and get a wave rotor for the CZ wheels so I can keep the stock rotor on the stock wheel. My goal was to hit 11.5 tonight and the results were very satisfying. I appreciate all the help and knowledge ppl have shared with me since being here and posting about wanting to drag race this Busa, its a blast.

Mike's wife Nikki took some pics, so once they wake up should be posted. Even got some of Hawk and I in our EBC T's!

Cool. All this talk makes me want to go but it clashes against all my recluse principles.

It's all about the fun, good for you Charlie.
Nice feature that track has giving you a MPH for the 660', and decent reaction times btw.
Now twist that throttle some more,

Todd, throttle was open all the way, other than the launch Also have the 330' et, 1000' et.

Time for me to research the DA' for last night and plot that as well so I can look for trends. It has be pretty good amount of DA though, besides the elevation, it was still in the mid-upper 80's, and humidity was near 60% or more.

Really? What gearing? I'd think you should be doing a minimum of 140mph(even bone stock) by the quarter(no matter the ET).
The 330' will be more relevant about your launch once you get your 60's down and the 1000' will show how your curve is past the 1/8th. But I'd like to see what those more seasoned then myself think about your 1/4 MPH(where it shows horsepower).
If you have DA and are pulling TP, you might want to check to make sure you were actually WOT.

DA calculates out to be ~7584' dropping to 7050' at our last run. From ppl at the track, our bikes are running much like they should for the DA here. One guy has been running his ZX-14 here a lot, with mods, and has finally broke into the 9.9x barrier. My thinking is the 4662' track elevation and DA is killing it. But I would like to confirm WOT, guess I'll have to raise the tank and looksie at the TB's.

Ok, I digress... I have absolutley no experience doing anything(other then flying in a plane) at that type of elevation(we think our one track is high cause it's over 300'). And I was thinking the DA was your on board Data Aquisition.
I guess I'm looking forward to the responses from this also?

Getting an on-board camera system can help in the data-aq area very easily and inexpensively if you point it at your tach and throttle hand(a piece of tape on the throttle and seeing the traps as you go through in combination with your tach reading and the track's timeslip is invaluable).

I was wanting to hook the camera up, but forgot to ask them if they will allow that. I know I have the throttle hand pulled to the stopper all the way thru the traps, learned that lesson (letting before the actual traps) back in my bracket racing days when I started losing money from clipping my et!

Editing the DA' as well in post above, got the weather info and good calculator.

Also in the equation is my set-up:

    Stock internal
    Full Tsukigi Spec I
    Air Box Mod
    BMC Race Filter
    SmithBusa MGPS
    43t Rear
    Carrozzerria Wheels
    Pilot 2CT's (38psi on 1-3 runs and 18psi runs 4&5)
Lowered 2" Front and 1.5" Rear (middle dogbone)

NO TUNING, NO PCIII OR ANY OTHER MODULE.

Todd, pluggin away at different calculators etc. I came up with the following info on power:

Using 712lbs (rider and Busa, half tank)
    ET 11.18
    Trap 130 (average)

    Est Crank HP = 144
    Est wheel hp = 122

using that data with the DA' correction:

144 x 1.211 (correction for DA in relative hp loss) = Est Crank HP 174
    122 x 1.211 (same) = Est Wheel HP 148
    *rounded to nearest whole*
Of course these are just estimates, but thinking that should signify the approx performance potential, or identify serious issues? I think.

Sorry bout this, but manual data acquisition and interpretation is not only part of my career for the last 12yrs, but also very helpful when I was points racing in sportsman class, almost to the point of obsession. I just have this undieing need to know if the Busa is performing like it should.

I know the ET will continue to drop the better I get at the launch, since its historical that every -.100 you trim off your 60' you can figure on -.150 on the top end. I'm not real sure how a similar setup Busa like mine can perform in the 60'?

You got me! I estimated the weight, figuring in 190 for me with gear, and the remaining 522lbs being the Busa (she's well nourished, not fat!).

Seems your on the rite track. I don't know what would be consider a great pass in the that air. Just gotta work on the 60ft. and ur times will drop instant.
There is a couple guys that come from Co to the Byron event here in IL with a turbo bike and they are running into the 7's which I think is great coming from CO. and having to change the tune ups around to run that # here in IL.
They were going to try get some more guys to come out next time.
I'll have to find out where they live and what track they go to maybe their close to you.

Please do, and feel free to forward my email to them, cat3n4@gmail.com in the hopes I can linkup with them...especially since I'd like to add a hairdryer Looking at some cars I know very well and comparing them, the mph does seem to take a big hit here.. Drag racing is like sex, the more you practice the better you become....

Todd, yes, why is that weird for you to see a bike and car stage together? I've been racing quite a bit and seen this before as well, Hawaii, California, Alaska, Arizona....and of course here. Now if it were for competition or points etc surely not. Or if the car/bike is making licensure passes then no.

For those wanting to know, the Busa in the pics is MTKO Mikes, and the Jan/Dec couple in the EBC evening attire is Hawk and meself.
