Thread: Participate - one and all

Each month from March thru December, ten times a year, we will run the “EBC Busa of the Month” contest and in February we will run the “EBC Busa of the Year” Contest.

Each month one Hayabusa will be selected (March thru December) from the “EBC Busa of the Month” contest thread, the winners for the monthly contest will be selected by the Administrators / Moderators of this forum, that bike will be titled “EBC Busa of the Month”. The monthly winner will be announced to the EBC forum members via “EBC Busa of the Month Winner” thread at the beginning of the following month, the winner will have his/her Hayabusa posted in that thread as “EBC Busa of the Month Winner” and will have a showcase award shown in your members profile.

In February we will run a final contest called “EBC Busa of the Year" this is where we will take all the winners from the previous ten months and post a thread showing the pictures used to win “EBC Busa of the Month”. All the members of the forum will vote on their favorite of those ten. This thread will stay up for 20 days, after the 20th day, all votes will be totaled and the winner will be announced as “EBC Busa of the Year” winner. The winner will receive a prize package from EBC.

There will not be an “EBC Busa of the Month” contest in January or February… we all need a break. We will also remove all entries from the previous year so that we start off the New Year clean. This is where everyone gets too re-entered for the up and coming New Year; we will clean out the old thread and you will have to resubmit pictures to enter again.

“EBC Busa of the Month” Rules:

• You must have a minimum of 250 posts;

This contest is for our members, we love everyone to post up there rides but we want our members to be consider for “EBC Busa of the Month” not the person who joins just to enter.

• A Maximum of four photo’s of your Hayabusa can be entered;

You can enter less then four. We will delete the lasts one(s) from the entry if more then four are added. Remember that we use these photos to pick the winner each month so be sure to enter good pictures. (see below for photo tips)

• The winner from any previous month of the same year cannot participate again with the same bike.

No matter what changes have been make to the bike it can only win “EBC Busa of the Month” once in a calendar year. A winner from a previous year can re-enter the same bike only if major modifications have been made. Major does not mean just paint or simple bolt-on’s. It must be a Major make-over!

• Administrators & Moderators are not eligible to play!

Some hint’s on taking pictures of your Hayabusa;

• Plan on photographing your bike for this contest, snap shots on rides or at events will not show your bike’s Extremeness.
• Adding props (IE, models) will not help show off your bike, focus will be on the prop and not you bike, remember this is about the bike!
• Keep you bike out of direct sunlight, try shooting early morning or later in the day, if you have to photograph midday look for a shady area.
• Be sure to clean your bike… this is for a contest.
• Focus on the Extremeness of your ride, and look for angles that enhance that area that you are trying to show off. Always have at least one overall picture to show how sweet your bike is.
• If you photograph you ride in a busy area the picture will not be about your bike but everything around it, try and find a park, open parking lot, the side of a building, a background that will make your bike stand out in the picture.
• Remember that you only have four photos to show off your ride so think about what you want to show and why it’s Extreme to you!

For all of the conspiracy theorists, this post is to elaborate on how the Admin voting process works for BOTM.

Each Admin submits the names of 3 users whose bike they feel deserves the BOTM Award. The user w/ the most votes is the winner.

We each fill in our votes. Apply some simple math and voila....BOTM is announced.

"What happens if there's a tie?"
That's simple. We tally the most #1 votes between the users that are tied.

"What happens if there's still a tie?"
That's simple too. We tally the most #2 votes between the users that are tied.

"What happens if there's still a tie?"
That's simple too. We tally the most #3 votes between the users that are tied. (which has happened once)

"What happens if there's STILL a tie?"
That's simple too. We create a poll and allow the membership to vote. (never happened)

"Why don't you just make the winner the person w/ the most #1 votes from the beginning?"
Simple yet again. We collectively agreed upon the above voting procedures.

Contrary to any rumor, there are no cash prizes, movie contracts or endorsement deals either for the winners or for any of the admins.
