Everybody loves lighthouses.
Why California Big Sur Coastline is so famous.

See this K1200R - this will be in my garage next season on loan. Be interesting to also have a standard to compliment the busa. See the sign?

Southern end of CA Big Sur near Hearst Castle.
Next day riding the Goat Trail known as Santa Rosa Creek Rd
Ride comes up that canyon. Good fun. Ocean in the background.
Had a real treat on this ride, joined by Brad on his Harley sidecar rig. First time I'd ridden with a sidecar hack.

Into tiny ranching town (population 18) of Parkfield - aka Earthquake Capital of the World.

Parkfield is big biker hangout - especially on weekends.
Any geology majors? I took geology my first year in college to try and avoid chemistry. Ended up changing my major and got suckered into 2 1/2 years of chemistry anyway.
They've built an earthquake machine there. Jump up and down on the ground like Bob & Mark, and the whole machine simulates and earthquake.

Earthquake Country - see on the left of the CA coastline, the little dot is Parkfield
Paying our respect to James Dean who died nearby in 1955
Heading out into the middle of nowhere - Bitterwater Rd in San Luis Obispo Co. It's actually really curvy, but has this nifty 5 mile long straight on the south end.

Want a ride?
Do I?
So the challenge is how do you get some good shots of the ride as Brad is zippin' down the road. I forget to tell him to just go slow.![]()

A forum for motorcycle in general. This site is my personal website being ran by myself Heavybusa and soon BigGeorge. It is a place we can go and talk about all bikes dirt, street, cruiser or whatever else. Also a place we can converge on if Extreme ever has problems so you can get in touch with us to find out what is going on and when Extreme will be up and running again.
My cover shot
Off to more riding

Our Pashnit Tour Group - always good times.
Next day was spent running around San Luis Obispo County. Sunday morning ride, no people, no traffic for miles on end. Twisting rolling hills, it was heaven. The ride was near Paso Robles & Atascadero (home of author Clement Salvadori of Rider Magazine fame).
Vineyard Canyon Rd - wineries as far as the eye can see in this coastal region of California.

Still looks good, doesn't she? Any bike that can carry you through 5 years of travels, and tens of thousands of miles.
Lot of hours spent sitting in the saddle watching the world go by.

One last bonus pic b/c I know someone is going to ask- where the hell is that?
This is Panoche Rd in a low mountain range to the west of I-5. Absolute middle of nowhere. Real twisty as it goes up and over the range. This long straight is in the middle of all that.

Tim is doing what all of wish we were doing...living our dream. These trips pull us from our daily lives where we grind through our jobs and escape with you on these roads.
We always say one of these days I am going to do this or that. I think with enough planning on our part here we could coordinate our time and do an extreme ride. This however, would be another thread.
Tim...thank you for sharing!
