    FI light flashing

I know this isn't in the right section but, maybe someone in the know will see it before it gets moved to the Gen2 no mans land.

Here goes! Today I'm riding and I came to a stop sign and I decide to take off faster than usual. I cram tthe throttle and the Busa takes off like a rocket. I think to myself I thought I had it mode C, because it took off like it was in the A mode[ full blown busa mode] Well it was in C-mode and the FI light was on but it was running really well. I come to a stop and it idled well so, I shut her down and restarted and everything was ok until I cram the throttle on the take off and the light comes on again. I went through the restarted routine again and all was well so, I proceed toward home taking off normal and all is well. While in four gear I cram te throttle and all is still well so, I tried it from the lauch and Fi came on again. What's up with that? Ok It has a PCIII and a X-TRE. Could there be a conflict between the two?

Just received an e-mail from Healtech and they assured me that the problem couldn't be on their end if the gear indicator was functioning correctly. Now I'll be curious to see what Dynajet has to say.

Check your air filter. The dealer failed to replace my stock filter with a K&N at my request the last time i had it in there for a tire change. I figured this out because after getting keys back I took it about 2 miles down the road and the FI light came on. So back to the dealer i go. Come to find out the old filter was never changed and it was extremely dirty causing the FI light to come on. The FI light is like a check engine light for your car. After they realized that they were at fault they replaced my air filter for free and gave me a store credit of 50.00. So my experience with the FI light is: dirty air filter= FI light coming on. i have a TRE and PC3 but they weren't part of my issue. You could be having a different issue but since replacing filter i haven't had a problem with the light coming on again.

I am sure that the genII is the same as the genI in that you can access the dealer mode and read the codes to see what it says. Unfortunatly I have no idea were the access pigtail is on the genII if it would help you it is on the left side behind the battery on the genI

A forum for motorcycle in general. This site is my personal website being ran by myself Heavybusa and soon BigGeorge. It is a place we can go and talk about all bikes dirt, street, cruiser or whatever else. Also a place we can converge on if Extreme ever has problems so you can get in touch with us to find out what is going on and when Extreme will be up and running again.

My bike does this too when I race her.......its the ecu telling you the fuel injectors are/ran at 100 percent for X amount of cycles.....its a software issue with your PCIII....if you contact powercommander and tell them you need the patch for the FI light and what I just said.....they will direct you to the rite download page and your done......after you update your software.....it sounds tuff, but they walked me through it over the phone.....three minutes and I was done.....no more issues either

Dynajet sent me an e-mail elling me to find the plug and jump the red and white wire to the black and wire and the error code would show on the dash. They have to have it before they cantell me anything. We'll see when I get home. Thanks for the help guys, it's much appreciated.

Just an FYI - for those of you using the PCIIIR (serial) there is no patch available for the FI light. I have been living with that nuisance everytime I race at the track as it invariably lights up at 10000 RPM in 1st gear just before pounding into 2nd (the same time as my shift light) I tape over it at the track to keep it from distracting my view of the shift light. Dynojet research and my tuner say it is no threat - just the ECU doing it's job of monitoring.

If I knew for sure it wasn't hurting the bike I'd overlook it because, now don't get me wrong it runs like a champ all the time but, when that FI light comes on it seems as if it had two more cylinders.

I pulled the fault code on the bike and it is C32 and according to the book its a loose connection on #1 cylinder primary injector. I took a look and it looks as if the wires have a strain on them because I didn't secure the harness for PCIII. What I'd like to do is get another injector connector[ plug] with about six inches of wire attached and splice it into the existing wires. Is that do-able or will it cause more problems. Either way I need a new plug.
