Thread: What color rearsets?

Well, I had such a friggin awesome ride last Thursday and this Thursday is suppose to be even MORE awesome for weather (mid 70's)...I am thinking about just keeping my damned busa and maybe NEXT year getting a m109r and having both. Then again wifey, who has NEVER said boo about my bike other than she likes it...says she really likes the gen2 busa. She even said it had "sexy curves". This took me by complete surprise coming from a girl who is normally like "i dont know, all sportbikes look the same...".

Anywho... I have been thinking about 3 mods I want to make for my current busa. One is the boostbysmith gear indicator...another is a one piece upper triple with clips as well as maybe a brembo master with lever, and lastly a set of new adjustable rearsets.

So on to the question.

Here is my bike as it pretty much sits today:


Note that I have opted for a few gold accents here and there... The chain, the banjos on the lines, the adjuster levers on the pazzos, etc. (yeah yeah, thinking about going to a black or gold slider on the woodcraft)

In your opinion...and I will make this a poll. Should I go black to stay with the blackout theme of the bike, or go with gold to still stay with the gold touch theme...but scream LOOK AT ME! I AM AWESOME!

Here are the ebay ones I am considering as I cant afford $400 rearsets. Well, I CAN, but my wife would murder me... That and billet is billet to an extent...they look quality, and I couldn't care less if they are brand name or not.




I like this gold, as some of the other ebay "gold" rearsets look yellow or orange in the pics...

However I am thinking that it may be a little loud on this bike and a bit too much destracting from the overall theme/look.

FYI that if I get my bike painted, it will be black or satin black and I will retain the gold accents, possibly with a gold kanji...which is something i am considering for next year. If I do that, I will likely go with a gold one piece upper triple and maybe some additional gold accents.

The bike and paint set the primary...Gold would make the POP... my two cents worth...

I gotta say black. They both look nice but I would run black.

Spent weekend riding a '08 CBR1000 with SATO rearsets- in black.

They totally blend in. Want them to blend in, get black. Want them to stick out, get gold.

I'd go gold btw. Gold is so sweet on a black busa.

Do you notice them? Me neither.

Black. THe gold will realy be a strong accent on the bike. IF you do a gold Kenji then maybe it will be diff and look better with the gold rearsets.

Bikes that have gold on them seem to have: gold chain, gold rearsets, gold levers ( not just the adjusters), gold in the graphics, gold rotors, maybe even a gold sprocket.

It's all about BLACK!!!!! and nice ride Tim..

Is that a silver slide pad on the Woodcraft? Gold if those are the only 2 color options.

Funny how things happen. I asked the wife's opinion and her response "oh God, no gold...just would be too much".

So I think I am leaning black.

I think the gold would overpower the scheme, and those sets look brighter than the other gold accents you have.
