    Rode an (GEN2B) '08 Today!

Very very short ride, but enough to know there are major differences between my '06 and an '08.

    What I liked...
Extremely smooth. The abruptness is GONE, but the torque is still there. I have no idea how they did that, but they did. Revs more like a 600 now.
Sound is different too, much more refined. The raspyness is gone.
Instrument cluster! Love it! Love it! Love it! What a great remake!

    What I didn't like...
Mufflers? Why or why do they need to be so frikin LARGE. If they were any bigger you could store your helmet inside!
Power. Now this is gonna take some explaining. But here goes - The smoothness takes away the feeling of raw power that my '06 has. When I ride the '06 I feel like I'm in a '69 Mustang CobraJet. Raw and brutal, but OMG FAST! With the '08 that rawness is gone. I have no doubt the '08 is the better bike, likely faster too! But it doesn't feel like a muscle car anymore. It's almost too smooth!

Unfortunately - as I said it was a VERY short ride (about two blocks). But it was enough to know what my next bike will be! Now all I have to do is decide which color. This one was blue with gold rims by the way.

haha no pics! i was reading the "motor cyclist" magazine review on it.. and they said the bike revs, or accelerates quicker because of the gear ratio. they dyno'd both bikes and their power numbers are basically the same they said until about 8k rpms.. then the 08 takes off. but under 8k rpms, where the power numbers are basically exactly the same, the 08 is faster because of the gear ratio
    hmm... *rubs chin*

I'll post pics later. BTW - I also have video now! The owner of the '08 is a good friend of mine. On todays SMR (Sunday Mornig Ride) he went by me at one point like I was going backwards. Of course pretty much everyone does that as I'm not an aggressive rider.

No, didn't get to try the mode switch - too short of a ride. However, the one thing I don't like about my 'Busa is that it's a handful at low speeds around town. Near as I can tell Suzuki solved that issue with the new bike.
