I've been real happy with mine. I've gone a bit crazy with the RAM mounts. Here is my latest and most favorite mount point.

Wow Chris, thats the mount that I am going to do when I start to purchase parts!!!! what ball did you get to mount on the mirror extension....
i wish i hadd more money to buy one of theseee
Alright so here is another favorite I came up with. This is only the prototype though, the real design will be straight out one peice virtually. This is real solid from the main fairing bolt. I could make a handful of them if there is any interest and I could sell them for a small fee.
Chris, that is so stinkin' cool! Hadn't thought of a setup, quite like that. Finally running two GoPro camera's at the same time on the last ride.
Here's the setup. Start with two GoPro's. Once you have the normal GoPro Hero Motosports version, I got a second GoPro base model with is a bit less. Buy Now for the base kit is here. My RAM camera mounts on the right are the ones I mated to the GoPro mounts. The bottom camera also has the Tripod Mount option so I can mount it to the SportBikeCam or a normal tripod.
In the tailsection, you can see the two 11" long flexible RAM arms.
Also note the RAM ball mounts bolted to the Grab Rail bolts.

The 11" arm I didn't think was long enough, wasn't quite getting the height or length I was looking for to see around the rider. Really, the shot is looking over the riders' shoulder at the road ahead.
So came up with this idea.
This is a solid plastic RAM arm, right off the RAM site, using the 1" ball mount. It's male-male ends, which was a mistake, I should have ordered male-female ends, but live and learn. The pipe is little more than normal black water pipe from Home Depot. I didn't know that when I ordered it off the RAM site, but glued the ends on with normal PVC glue. Taking 1 end off, just barely fits inside the RKA saddlebags. Overall, it works!
Total length on the arm is 18". Much better than the flexible 11".

Should post this up too...
Working with the helmet, this actually gives great footage! I'm also using the Ride Expansion Kit to bump me up to 4 connected pieces. Gives you a bit more adjustability & moves the camera a bit further away from the helmet (larger field of vision while recording) using the Expansion Kit.

See thats cool..
So here's the shots, big fan of the timed-still-photo feature of the GoPro Hero. It'll shoot photo every 2 seconds.
This is Sonora Pass, Hwy 108, up and over the Sierra Nevada. Still a bit of snow left at the 10,000 ft mark.

Hey Tim, so how did you bend the ball mounts on your grab rails? I'm usually pretty good at that sort of thing. Doh!
Gently in a vise. Scribe the bend point, line it up on the vise, and then gently use a hammer to ease the RAM mount into the shape you want. Those things are pot metal, so not super strong. I've never had one break on me, but obviously the picture above. There's just enough room to squeeze the hump on. Clearance may vary on some bikes I imagine.

And lastly, here's the shot that results. Got exactly what I wanted was an over-the-shoulder sort of shot in mid corner at full lean using the 2-second-timed-photo feature.

4gb Upgrade now available for the GoPro Hero via download
GoPro - Firmware Upgrade![]()
Thanx Tim, I'll have to get a few more and be more careful this time. I like the discrete look. Also thanx for the update on the 4GB, I've been waiting for that. The shots below are from this past weekend out on the southern most tip of Cape Cod MA. GoPro works great on tire swings too!
senors can not handle the brightness of the light.....
I am impressed.![]()
i love the pics it takes, very cool
Anyone try the 4GB upgrade yet? I like to hear of success stories.
I had no problem upgrading and I'm now using a ScanDisk Ultra II 8GB card! The 4GB limitation is on the file size and not the memory card. The GoPro will stop recording if the file size reaches 4GB which is impossible using Energizer NiMH rechargeables. Apparently you can initiate further video recording, you just have to press the shutter button again. Moot but possible. Lithium may go the distance but I have not tried those. Now I need more batteries or alternatively a powerlet so I can recharge on the fly.
Tim,
Is this still on ?
