A little about me and what systems do i do.

Hi everyone this will be my first thread in the MBP forum.

I have been in the Pneumatics and compressed air industry for the last 14 years working on purpose built machining lines and machines for the automotive industry with such customers as Toyota, GM America and Mitsubishi Australia, i am qualified Machinist and qualifyed in pneumatic design, CNC machining / programming (the list goes on and on) and have a true passion for what i do. I have been modifying motorcycles for 12 years. I had an idea to mix both, my passion for motorcycles and passion for engineering / pneumatics.

I have designed and prototyped and manufactured a number of Motorcycle rear Air Ride systems over the years with basic systems and my favourite the twin chamber Systems for full control. I do all the design / development and manufacture of my MBP Air Suspension Systems.

I wanted a great looking shock so i designed my shock to be the most versatile and customisable shock on the market for bling or colour anodizing.

If you need any advice on air suspension or would like information on my kits im here to help.

Shortly i will start a new thread to show how i have developed and manufacture my systems so you can see first hand how they came from an idea to what i have today.

Pic time.

Matt

Hi Victorinox,

The Total control system i do has it all, ride height, compression, rebound control, you can set it to ride high / low / hard / soft. I also have a few options as well, remote control and a twin compressor setup for faster actuation.

I'm very interested. I have always wanted air ride for the on the fly height adjustment. I have just heard nothing bit bad things about the ride quality. Sounds like you might have the answer.

Hey MATT, just to help others out, how about posting a pic of the complete kit: valves, lines, cylinder, toggles..that kind of stuff. Show what they would get when they open the bock..
Does your cylinder ( double chamber ) work against eachother or are they two seperates. Meaning if hieght is set to with no air/ no raise, is there still rebound to adjust, or do you need raise to be able to adjsut comfort rebound?

Any plans to do a front set-up?

Ok here we go,

MBP Basic - Air Ride Suspension System
The function of this system is a basic air ride system hence the name, air is only pressurizing one side (top) of the piston to give height control, the bottom side of the piston does not get pressurised and is open to atmospheric pressure, i do install an adjustable restricter which does give a small amount of rebound adjustment. The compressor pressurizes the top of the piston to raise the bike and vents the air via a high pressure solenoid valve to lower the bike. There is one micro switch that actuates the compressor or the solenoid valve.
This system is good for if you are only cruising around or you want to raise and lower the bike for the show factor.

MBP Total Control Twin Chamber - Air Ride Suspension System
The function of this system is a complex air ride system and is totally adjustable hence the name again hehe, air can be independently pressurized or released from either the top or the bottom of the piston so the rider can adjust the height, rebound, softness, stiffness of the ride by the flick of one of the switches, there are two micro switches one for height / stiffness control and one for rebound / stiffness control this allows the rider to adjust the rear suspension ride for varing conditions.

I have found that a lot of people believe that motorcycle air suspension systems can't be used riding the twisties. Well my MBP Total Control System can and i have done so many many times.
I stand behind my product and i will be proving it when i get an on board camera for the bike, i personally will be riding my 04 Hayabusa with the MBP Total control Twin Chamber System through the twisties so you can actually see how my system handles in the corners.

A few examples of how you can use the total control system
You are ready to go riding you adjust the height and stiffness of the shock, you ride down the road and feel the suspension is to soft, well you just flick one or both of the switches to add more pressure to the shock for a stiffer ride.

I do a lot of longer distance riding and i personally love the air ride in these situations.
Lets say you are on a long ride and have been riding for a while and the suspension height is set at standard height, if you arms / shoulders / back are starting to get a little tired you can lower the rear down then set the comfort of the shock to your liking, this enables your arms to be straighter your back straighter and your not leaning over the bike as much which gives a more comfortable ride, its amazing what 1 to 2 inches lower at the rear makes it for a long distance ride.

And of course when you get to your destination flick the switch and lower the bike and watch everyone

You do have to raise the bike a little to adjust the comfort / rebound setting.

I have over the last 6 months been toying with a front setup, still very very early days and these require a lot of development. I want the fronts to handle the same as at least a standard set of forks would with the additional adjustment of height and stiffness, not just a fork that goes up and down. I have trialed one design i have which i am working on.
