3/4 out to be enough yes

Hey Rick, long time no talk. I have a question that is not bike related, maybe you can answer it. I built two target props. I am looking to attach a steel cable to them so I can practice my long barrel shots. I need to purchase a 12x12 steel plate for them. I am wondering if 3/4 in will be enough. I looked online and couldn't find a definite answer. Shooting 30-06 from 50-70 yrds. 165gr. PSP generally. Is the thickness enough? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hey Rick. Sorry I have been out of touch for a while. I was actually staying in Mass. pretty much all of last week. Was helping a friend out with a boat. Brought my bike down on a trailer and rode a little. Haven't been online in a week, got a lot of catching up to do.
Other than that, everything is the same over here. Yard work etc. I will keep an eye on the weather, so we can get a ride in one of these days.
