Thread: Didn't See This Coming...Well Maybe I Did.

Wife of 18 years tells me this weekend she is leaving. I guess she blames the slow economy on me. The Iron worker trade is in the tank, I've been drawing unemployment since March. Health benefits ran out and I can't afford them so my diabetes and high blood pressure are out of control. I sent off for my DD214 so maybe the V.A. can help me in that respect but as far as the mortgage goes thats looks like a bust too. I say lets just sell the house but I really think she wants to see me destitute. I think for her it's all about control. She has that "as long as I'm footing the majority of the expenses, you have to play by my rules" mentality. Or maybe it's just time to move on for both of us. No infidelity, Drugs or Gambling on my part at least. I can't say as much for her.

Thanks for the support guys, oddly I feel kind of indifferent. Like I'm supposed to feel something that I really don't. The only thing on my mind now is survival. I guess because I've been in the "Survival Mode" for several months now. Not numb but hopefull that there might be something better out there this time. Someone that enjoys or at least respect the things I love and vise versa. Someone that is passionate about something other than laying around all weekend watching TV and talking on their cell phone.

Its a no brainer, when times are tough you need to stand together strong and work your way through, not for your partner to kick you in the balls when the going gets tough.

Divorce SUCKS!!! You have to fork out hella money and the only thing it does is make layers rich. If I can only give you one piece of advice it would be this if Divorce is truely the route for you guys do your best to find a good lawyer that will work for you. When your lawyer is a lazy Piece of SH!T trust me you will get screwed.

Believe me...I FEEL YA. Been out since November and feeling the crunch here in ALL THE ways. Nerves and stress bring additude from both sides.

Been there and I feel ya. It was a like a ton of bricks lifted off me when I divorced in 2000. It's been awesome every since.

Dayum man, hate reading about issues like this effecting people here. I empathize with you. I've been divorced thrice, and with my fourth and final, I have the woman I've always wanted, a friend, partner, confidant, playmate, lover etc. Your situation is shite, it sucks, its a PITA, it pisses you off etc.. but when you're through it, you will once again remember how to smile, and then it will catch your eye...the woman that does like the things you do, or least she's ok with you liking it, and that indifference will go away. Keep your head up man.

Sorry to hear bro, I am number 2 now. Just be strong it will be hard but once it's over you remember how to have fun again without worrying about pissing of the wife. It has been said already but get a good attorney!! I know times are tuff but if you don't, they will get tuffer.

Women are always there when the goods are around.....It is the lazy azz attitude of some women that will shine bright when the times are tough. Get rid of the problem and STAY single. My dad told me that with women, it is cheaper to rent.

Sorry to hear the bad news but better now than later. Some Women are never content they always want more and don't know a good thing when they see it. Just remember this there are plenty more out there to replace her and you can bet most are younger sweeter nicer and if your really lucky,, they have their own $$$.
