Thread: Going to visit my dad, and share the EBC w/him

Well, as things go, we're packing up this afternoon and driving to see my dad before its too late. He'll finally get to see his Granddaughter, and spend some smiles together. My mom has shared the prayers and wishes from the board with my dad, but I'll be sitting down with him reading them. Very moving indeed. I want to say thank you to all those who have held my dad in their prayers, and sent wishes, or thoughts for the best (for those non-prayer types of family here). It truly means a lot to my family and I. Will only be there for a couple days, but will make the best of it.

He will be proud to see that he has raised a fine gentleman that now has a wonderful family of his own.

Sorry about your dad man I am really happy for him and your family that he will have an opportunity to see his granddaughter. As I sit here writting this it brings a tear to my eyes because I would not be taking it very well if my son and I were to losing eaither of his Granddad's or Grandmother's because he and I loves them more than any thing on this earth. So take your time Bro and let her soak the time in Bro and my Families prayer are with you guys and be safe on your trip. Let your dad know that all of us here at EBC are with you guys and will help out were we can.

This is an important time in your life Charlie. Please take my advise and don't leave without saying and doing everything with your father. You'll remember this visit for a LONG time to come. And I'm so happy that you're giving your father the chance to see his granddaughter... that means more to our mother's and father's than any of us can imagine. He'll cherish the feeling of being able to hold her and be with her even if for only a short time. My family's thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Charlie,go there with your family and do what you do best. Being a good man,dad and husband. I am glad that he will be able to see his grandaughter before things take for the worst. And dont be afraid to let out anything that may have been bottled up inside...now is the time to clear any of that up bud.

Well, we got caught in the "extreme weather" running from Colorado thru Nebraska....10hrs worth of rain so hard I couldn't barely see, lightning was horrible and winds were crazy wicked, if I went slower the car was being pushed around like a toy, so I stuck the throttle to 90mph and sliced thru it, passed a couple DPS and State Troopers, talked to one at a smoke/stretch and rest stop he said he wasn't worried if I wanted to haul ass and let me know there weren't any other LEO's until a few miles into Iowa..how cool that was!

My pop's, well, will try and get some before and now pics, but he looks very bad, it hurts my soul to see him like this. But, I'm supressing my pain for him so we'll enjoy the next few days.

Will be sharing this printed so I can skip the things he probably doesn't need to hear, like how I am feeling right now

Super idea on the pics. You can always put them away for someday when your feelings aren't so raw. At that time you may well find your perspective changes and all you'll see is the love in his eyes staring back at you and then you'll be glad you took them.

I will assume that God is in your father and families life considering the above post. With this said I feel good about posting my feelings and believe of this subject.

Life on this earth was meant to be short, your father will have the opportunity to move into the heavens that God has arrange for all of us if we choose so. Death seems to be never a good thing on this earth but it is a blessing to someone that has accepted Christ, we seem to grieve for the living not the dead. As your faith grows, so does the ability to accept death as it comes, not saying that its ever easy. Just keep reminding yourself that once he accepts Christ as his savior he will be OK and that he will want for nothing more. You and your family will always have the opportunity to see him again if you all choose to. "Keep the Faith" and remember that he is going to meet "GOD" himself. What better gift is there?
