Factory Recall for 2007 GSXR 1000

    This information has been updated!!!!

    What is the Problem

Suzuki has received reports of reduced charging systems output on certain GSX-R1000K7 models. There is a possibility that the generator rotor mating surface has irregularities that may result in loosening of the bolt which secures the generator rotor, resulting in reduced charging system output. The reduced charging system output can result in discharging of the battery preventing the unit from starting.

    What Will Your Dealership do

Replace the generator rotor on any GSX-R1000K7 within the affected VIN range at no cost to the customer for labor or parts.

    Affected Unit VIN Range

    JS1GT77A*72100028 through JS1GT77A*72103940
    JS1GT77A*72104330 through JS1GT77A*72106054
    JS1GT77A*72106145 through JS1GT77A*72107523
    JS1GT77A*72107644 through JS1GT77A*72107883

Yes please do Brian this is not a good thing in fact the Suzuki rep made it a point to call the service manager at our dealers ship until he spoke with him personally. Yeah tell him to get it there ASAP

I've pmed him on S4L and posted it up there too, now I'm thinking his is a 750, not a 1K but I don't want to take a chance.

what exactly is the recall for? rotor spinning? in other words, more properly, the rotor bolts are sheering off? the rotor attachment points are breaking?

I will get the Recall from the Woods on Monday and scan it the old fashion way with my Flat bed sanner and get it posted for you guys. But please do tell your buds to be safe when they ride NO HIGH SPEED RUNS UNTIL they get the recall done. Yes the recall is for spinning rotor I don't think it is shearing the bolts but has something to do with the shaft but like I said I will post it tomorrow after I get off work from Woods.

Thanks Adam, I reached my friend, he has a 750, not a 1K, but we want to get the word out anyway.

is the caliper torque arm coming off somehow? that the only thing I could see "spin" in that kind of setup.

I got a call on Wednesday on my way to the track from my dealer telling me I had a flywheel mod that needed to be done on my K7 but he did not mention anything concerning the rear brake?

I guess there is a few K7's that have suspicious flywheel mating problems and Suzuki is replacing all the flywheels within that range of serial numbers to be safe. Good for Suzuki.

I never use my rear brake anyway so I guess there's no rush on mine but I will check with the dealer on Tuesday.
