Actually, there is only one radar detector that was built specifically for motorcyclists: more info is here

And there's a lot of other great units on the market. Everyone has their favorites in that department.

Country road for me when I get stupid also, less or no traffic. Feel lucky because oregon is double the speed limit automatic jail and bike impounded. That means if I go 50 in a 25 its bread and water for dinner. They arent very nice when they take the bike either they back a roll bed up to it push the bike over onto it and tie it down. Sounds nice don't it boys.

A forum for motorcycle in general. This site is my personal website being ran by myself Heavybusa and soon BigGeorge. It is a place we can go and talk about all bikes dirt, street, cruiser or whatever else. Also a place we can converge on if Extreme ever has problems so you can get in touch with us to find out what is going on and when Extreme will be up and running again.

All fifty over violations are not the same.

My scenario above doesn't come close to the reckless endangerment of going 75 in a 25 mph school zone, does it?

Prosecutors can always add reckless driving and other charges, if justified, but having automatic speed based jailing penalties is just too Nazi to me.

i run my bike wideopen down 295 all the time at night... same thing on 37...

i've done it for years..since b4 i even had a car licence.. i've also seen idiots i dont trust at 40 doing the same thing.. the '' i had to lay it down'' type of idiots who think lettin a bike slide stops faster...

last thing i feel like doing while im cruisin in my maxima is get hit by some 400lb missle at 100 because the idiots bike is faster then his skill level..

ALOT (not EVERY) of the time i see ppl doing stupid shit its on crashed and rashed 600s... 90% of the ppl cant afford the jail time or a big ticket.. might make them smartern up...

i cant afford it, thats why i either 1) dont stop 2) dont do it

i've slowed down and chilled out ALOT since i stopped making the $$ i used to..

Oh man, a $1k fine for having your tag mounted sideways. Does anyone have the full text of the legislation? I ask this because if all they require is horizontal mounting then hey, upside down is still a horizontally mounted tag as well.

Went to Tallahasse and back this morning and Florida miss out on that $1000.00. The new laws a kind of much but, I run across rediculous traffic laws all over. On I-285 [Atlanta by-pass] the speed limit is 55 mph for all vehicles and anything left of the second lane is taboo for 18 wheelers. Not long ago I was in lane#2 working my way north and this car load people in front of me kept fluctuating their speed from 55 to 45 and evertime they'd get up to 55mph the driver would hit the brakes. The vehicle then went from lane#2 to lane#1 and almost ran into another car. Well he swerves back into my lane and almost stops and I had to change lanes to keep from hitting him. The right lane was occupied so I had to go left or hit him so, I go left [ into an illegal lane for trucks]. Already being in the left I decided to go ahead an pass so, I did. As soon as I get around him the darned Dot was behind me with his blue lights on. Nailed me for illegal lane and 74mph in a 55mph. Anyway those to ticket were considered major violation which would have gotten me 120 day vacation without pay so legal fees and all $975.00. The 74 in a 55 turned into a 64 in a 55 and the illegal lane turned into a none moving violation.

The worst case I've heard of over here in England is of a fella speeding on a ZX9,he was doing 130-140 mph down country lanes with a 50 limit (weaving in and out of traffic). He would've got away with it,but he had a video camera bungee'd to the tank which the police promptly confiscated as evidence!! This is what got him convicted. He got 12 months jail, and a 5 year ban. This is the stiffest penalty I've ever come across, and I think the authorities were making an example of someone as a deterrent.

I remember a few years back they busted a guy for speeding because of his camera on his tank. He posted a video to youtube with him flying at around 140 on a backroad complete with speedo pic. A cop recognized the area he was speeding in and that was that.
