Thread: (CLOSED) HJC Helmet Ratchet System AHJ07 Source Needed

So I bought a new shield finally for my HJC CL-14 helmet that I've had for years now. Anyways, I broke a piece on one side so now I can't hopen my shield more than 2 clicks before one side pops off.

Quick search on HJC's website showed me this link which describes the installation and gives me HJC item number AHJ07.

Google isn't being very helpful though on finding one for sale and my local shops could care less since the helmet is discontinued.

It appears from the link that other helmets which share this style (if the same part completely is unknown) are the AC-11, CL-MAX, and FG-14.

Long story short, anyone know who I could buy one of these from or has a used broken helmet they could take one off of and sell it to me?

Good deal. I'll try that at lunch. I jumped the gun probably posting this before the weekend was over (broke my helmet on Saturday).

How goes this hunt Insert?

No more damage than this same broken part.

I called yesterday morning (11am) and got voicemail.. left one, no call back.

Called again at 4pm and got voicemail.. left one, no call back.

Dayum.

I e-mailed helmetshop.com and they said they have the part I need in a pair for just over $10 plus shipping. I'll post back if the part is right and works out.

Side note, I asked them since they're doing that group buy for helmets, figured it was a quality shop to go through.

You might be thinking of me and my KBC helmet, very similar incedent but all is well thanks to KBC of America and NOT my local stealership...

I might be jumping the gun here, but HelmetShop.com sent me an e-mail saying that I could just call in to order since the part wouldn't be listed on their site.

I called in moments later, spoke to the guy who e-mailed me, and once he got over the shock of how soon I called after he mailed (realizing who it was), he took my order and got the parts out today!

Even tossed them in a padded envelope so he could ship it Priority for <$4!

I'll have to post my feedback once installed to make sure it's the right part.
